Life
My job is not my life. My job is my job. Outside of that, I do have a life :-)
Rich and I live on the San Francisco peninsula, west of the SF airport in what Rich likes to call "the air conditioning duct of the San Francisco Bay Area." OK, so we get a lot of wind... it's rarely hot! We've been living on the Peninsula since January, 1985 (we spent 3 months in Walnut Creek after moving out to California; that was hot).
Nearly every year since I moved to California, my folks have flown out to visit. Sometimes we plan a trip; often they take a few days on their own to drive off somewhere. My mother wasn't so sure she liked it when I decided to move to California, but then she realized the visiting and travel potential and decided it wasn't quite so bad...
Our family includes our Maine Coon cats. Maine Coons love to help... help type, help make the bed, help get dinner, help watch the movie... and play.
Some of my personal interests include:
- reading, (mostly fantasy and mysteries; some light science fiction)
- taking walks, especially on the many recreation trails in the area
- playing with our cats
- playing with various "Techie Toys"
- collecting ruby red and Vaseline glass.
- learning American Sign Language (ASL)
- enjoying our house and
backyard
Take a look at some of my bookmarks...
In my "spare" time, I write code for personal projects, work on web pages, write articles for various publications, work on the next book project (I'm co-author of a book on MacPerl), and spend quality time with my sweetie and the cats.
